I think of this as my "Puff Begonia" but of course that's not its real name. It's a Rieger Begonia. I saw it at my small local nursery, and it was so gorgeous -- full and healthy, with such a vibrant color -- that I could not get it out of my mind. So I went back for it a few days later. It happens to be the perfect size and shape to grace the center of my outdoor table without being in danger of getting blown over. (But I bring it in when storms are predicted.) This is a good example of how you read and research and plan what you want to add to your garden repertoire but end up including unexpected things because you happen upon plants that you fall in love with. That's one of the wonderful elements of gardening -- serendipity!
