After I planted my front door containers back on April 28, I lamented because you could not see the 'Madness Midnight' petunias from the street. They were so small that they barely rose above the edges of the pots:
But at this point they've most definitely achieved the look of abundant and overflowing cottage style that I've been dreaming of:
I credit my radical new gardening technique for this transformation. Of course, the 'New Carpet of Snow' alyssum is but a memory -- it's still there, but well overshadowed by the petunias as you can see. That's OK. I'll take too many flowers rather than too few any day!
